Scope of our Collection and Evaluative Criteria

adaxas seeks for websites that reflect:

  1. Content: Unique, important content across the full scope of information. How thoroughly does the site cover its content areas? If the site provides opinions, rather than facts, these opinions should be clearly identifiable as such. The site should provide illustrations where you would expect some to find. Institutional sites that provide little or no actual content beyond contact information or commercial sites will only be included when they offer information not duplicated by other adaxas resources of equal or higher quality.
  2. adaxas collects sites in all languages, without restrictions regarding age, topic, cultur, religion, political aspects.
  3. The provided information must be freely available. adaxas does not include sites that are fee-based or sell a product unless the site also offers important informational content for free.
  4. The site should contribute current, accurate information about the topic.
  5. The author should be legally entitled to present the content within copyright and fair use guidelines
  6. adaxas emphasizes collecting sites that reflect its motto, "Websites You Can Trust."
  7. Authority: Can an author be identified, and is there contact information? What is the author's reputation and qualifications in the subject? Is the authority important for this site? Does the author provide sources for information?
  8. What is its purpose--to instruct, inform, amuse, or persuade and how does the site compare with other sites on the same subject?
  9. Design: WAI, HTML and CSS valid sites are favoured! Further the site should be well-organized and easy to navigate. The site should display well in all browsers on all operating systems. All features should work in all browsers.

Furhermore:

  1. adaxas does not need useless hits, but we recommend to rate a listed site before submitting your site, in order you get an idea what we set a high value on.
  2. adaxas does not need splendid description from editors, but we intend to honor realistic descriptions issued by the webmaster himself.
  3. To get listed or better ranked just improve your site not the listing on adaxas.
  4. Sites we do not list at all: sites with pornographic, violence-glorifying or antinomian content, money-making sites, automated linkexchange sites, doorway pages, content and domain spam sites, useless bandwidth consuming sites, sites with automatically opening (pop-up) windows, sites with exit-pages... and of course, sites we simply don't like!
